Stability analysis of a schistosomiasis model with delays
Aboudramane Guiro, Stanislas Ouaro, Ali Traoré
In this work, a nonlinear deterministic model for schistosomiasis transmission including delays with two general incidence functions is considered. A rigorous mathematical analysis is done. We show that the stability of the disease-free equilibrium and the existence of an endemic equilibrium for the model are stated in terms of key threshold p(...)

Competition and facilitation-related factors impacts on crop performance in an agro-forestry parkland system in Burkina Faso
H. BAZIE
Parkia biglobosa and Vitellaria paradoxa are known to improve soil fertility and redistribute water under their crowns in parkland systems. A field experiment was conducted to separate above and belowground interactions between these species and associated Sorghum bicolor using root trenching and crown pruning during three cropping seasons. Tr(...)

Got issues? who cares about it? a large scale investigation of issue trackers from github
T. BISSYANDE
Feedback from software users constitutes a vital part in the evolution of software projects. By filing issue reports, users help identify and fix bugs, document software code, and enhance the software via feature requests. Many studies have explored issue reports, proposed approaches to enable the submission of higher-quality reports, and pres(...)

RELATING LOSS OF SOIL FERTILITY TO WATER AGGREGATE STABILITY AND NUTRIENT AVAILABILITY IN MOUNTAIN AGRICULTURAL CALCARIC SOILS
Patrizia Guidi, Gloria Falsone, Boussa Tockville Mare, Andrea Simoni, Paola Gioacchini, Gilmo Vianello
We investigated the topsoil from some mountain Regosols for their nutrient status and loss of fertility due to aggregate breakdown, establishing also the relationship between the nutrient losses, the soil characteristics and the aggregates stability. The aggregate stability varied from 57 to 80%. The nutrient losses differed among elements and(...)

Variation de caractères agromorphologiques et du Brix d’une collection de sorghos à tige sucrée du Burkina Faso
Baloua NEBIE, Romaric Kiswendsida NANEMA, Pauline BATIONO/KANDO, Ernest Renan TRAORE, Vanesse LABEYRIE, Nerbéwendé SAWADOGO, Mahamadou SAWADOGO, Jean-Didier ZONGO

Epidemiology of syphilis in regional blood transfusion centres in Burkina Faso, West Africa
Cyrille Bisseye, Mahamoudou Sanou, Bolni Marius Nagalo, Alice Kiba, Tegwindé Rebeca Compaoré, Issoufou Tao, Jacques Simporé
Introduction: Syphilis remains a major public health problem in sub-Saharan Africa, including Burkina Faso. However, few published data are available on the prevalence of syphilis in the population. This study had two main objectives: to determine the seroprevalence of syphilis in a cohort of 37,210 first time blood donors and to study socio-d(...)

Potent Antiproliferative Cembrenoids Accumulate in Tobacco upon Infection with Rhodococcus fascians and Trigger Unusual Microtubule Dynamics in Human Glioblastoma Cells
Aminata P Nacoulma, Veronique Megalizzi, Laurent R Pottier, Manuela De Lorenzi, Sylviane Thoret, Joëlle Dubois, Olivier M Vandeputte, Pierre Duez, Danny Vereecke, Mondher El Jaziri
hough plant metabolic changes are known to occur during interactions with bacteria, these were rarely challenged for pharmacologically active compounds suitable for further drug development. Here, the occurrence of specific chemicals with antiproliferative activity against human cancer cell lines was evidenced in hyperplasia (leafy galls) indu(...)

Application of the SBA method to solving optimal control problem governed by systems of nonlinear partial differential equations
Bakari Abbo, Pare Youssouf, Francis BASSONO, Marayi Choroma, Blaise Some
In this article, we are interested in solving optimal control problems governed by a system of nonlinear partial differential equations by the iterative method SBA(combination of the Adomian method, successive approximations method and the principle of Picard) ]. This technique allows reducing the problem of optimal control of the error

Molecular characterization of genetic diversity within the Africa/Middle East/Asia Minor and Sub-Saharan African groups of the Bemisia tabaci species complex
Bemisia tabaci Gennadius is a major plant pest in many agricultural systems worldwide. It is a complex of cryptic species that differ in many ecological respects, including damage-causing potential. Monitoring the genetic composition of B. tabaci populations in the field is, therefore, essential for achieving effective control. Sequencing is c(...)
